Privacy Policy: Privacy Display
Last Updated: February 27, 2026
ionXtech ("we", "our", or "us") built the Privacy Display application as a local screen privacy utility. This page informs users regarding our policies on data handling and system permissions.
1. Information We Collect
Privacy Display is engineered to operate without collecting, storing, or transmitting any personal data. We do not collect:
- Personal identifiers (name, email address, phone number)
- Contacts or address book entries
- Messages or chat logs
- Photos, screenshots, or media files
- Browsing history or keystrokes
- Screen contents or application usage content
The application operates 100% locally on your device.
2. Permissions We Request and Why
To function properly on Android, Privacy Display requests specific system permissions that are used strictly for user-initiated functionality:
Display Over Other Apps (Overlay Permission)
Used to draw the visual privacy filter layer above other applications. We never read, record, or capture the content of underlying applications.
Foreground Service
Required by Android to keep your active privacy screen overlay running reliably while you use other applications.
Notification Permission (Android 13+)
Used to display a persistent quick-control notification so you can toggle or adjust the privacy overlay at any time.
Receive Boot Completed
If you enable the "Start on Boot" setting, this permission allows the app to restore the privacy overlay service after your device restarts.
Usage Access (Optional, If Enabled)
If you enable optional per-app automation, the app may request Usage Access permission to detect which app is in the foreground so it can toggle the overlay automatically. This check happens strictly in local device memory and is never logged or transmitted.
Ignore Battery Optimizations (Optional)
Ensures the Android system does not unexpectedly terminate the active overlay while you are relying on it.
3. Data Storage
All user preferences (such as overlay opacity, height, and automation toggles) are stored locally on your device using Android's standard preferences storage. No data is transmitted to ionXtech or any third party.
4. Data Sharing
Privacy Display operates completely offline. We do not sell user data, share data with third parties, integrate third-party analytics, or include advertising SDKs.
5. Children's Privacy
Privacy Display does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
